  2.                                  SOUNDCARD HELP
  3.  
  4.           The SETD program must be run to choose a sound card option for 
  5.     "Walls of Rome".  The WALLS batch file will run this program automatically 
  6.     the first time you start "Walls of Rome" and allow you to choose before 
  7.     loading the game. 
  8.  
  9.           Common sound cards are listed, if you do not see your card and it 
  10.     is either Adlib or Sound Blaster compatible then choose the appropriate  
  11.     match.
  12.  
  13.           Sound drivers are automatically configured to the default values 
  14.     for the appropriate card, if you are not using the default or have 
  15.     selected a Sound Blaster compatible which uses setting different than 
  16.     the Sound Blaster defaults you will need to configure to your specific 
  17.     settings.  The I/O port setting defaults will appear, choose the 
  18.     appropriate port by entering the value, then IRQ default will appear 
  19.     and you can type in that value.

  21.          If sound problems occur with one of the sound cards listed, please 
  22.     check your sound card documentation and be sure it is correctly set up 
  23.     before contacting us, run sound board test software when possible to 
  24.     determine you have chosen the correct settings.  If problems occur with 
  25.     a card not listed but that should be 100% compatible to one listed, try 
  26.     choosing the PC Speaker options to see if they work and problem may be 
  27.     due to a board that is not as compatible as it suggests.

  29.          The sound drivers require XMS memory to load, please be sure you 
  30.     have at least 2 MB of XMS memory free to load sound drivers and sound 
  31.     effects.  Please consult the "Troubleshooting" section of your 
  32.     Walls of Rome manual for help on freeing up memory or use this HELP 
  33.     program and select either memory help or the boot disk maker.
